RADIATOR COVERS
Our customer's Vision was to have their cast iron radiators 'dressed up', to better blend in They asked for our help to conceptualize a solution to this dilemma. Our initial bid was for two radiator covers. That grew to four, and then quickly, seven. We were excited with this project, as we have never before done anything quite like it. They chose Walnut for the majority of the Radiator Covers, in order to best blend in with their existing wood trim and we went to work. Our final design, allows for maximum heat flow into the rooms, while keeping the units inconspicuously covered.
This being a local customer, we went to their house and carefully measured all the radiators and the space they occupied.
When it came time to install the pieces, we first placed a reflective insulating product, called, Tempshield, behind and above the radiators to help direct the heat in to the room.
Once in place, the covers provide a distinct presence to the room, while at the same time, serve a useful function.
The piano-hinge top allows for easy access to the controls of the radiator, as well as, offering a nice place to display knickknacks, art and pictures.
